Re: Dell Latitude e5420 -mods?
Maybe it is, he is replacing his motherboard and CPU, with are the core parts of a computer. He´s essentially only keeping the chassis and the RAM. So it´s pretty close. And keeping system drive... and the screen... and the inverter board...and the wireless card... and the optical drive... and the ...

Re: Dell Latitude e5420 -mods?
Unsure... You would need to see if everything lines up between the original and new boards.
No... It CLEARLY isn't... a motherboard is just one (big and important) part of a computer.

unless something changed in Serpent lately, you must enable WebRTC yourself. in about:config:

Re: Obscure facts thread
@i430VX That second fact is extremely interesting. Can something be done similarly for AM/FM transmissions? Sure... but you do need an AM/FM transmitter...probably. NTSC Channel 6 overlaps with FM 87.7MHz, so if you can source an RF modulator/whatever that can output to channel 6 (rather rare), you...

I agree, office 2003 looks weird. Office 2000/XP much preferred.

Is there? IF there was a will, it seems like it would have surfaced at some point in the past (nearly) 7 years since support ended.

Re: A note on Discord and Windows XP/2003
I'm not sure. The usefulness of the patch gets lower as the CPU you're using gets more powerful. I'm not sure if it will be of significant difference on your system, but certainly do try it and see how it goes.

Relatedly to my GUI question, @i430VX, ever messed with the NSIS installation wizard/scripter? Maybe you should take a look at that - it's pretty flexible and a lot of applications use it, so... yeah :P I have a couple of years ago, but i remember some reason I didnt go further with it. Perhaps i c...

Re: A note on Discord and Windows XP/2003
Discord works fine for me in New Moon (excepting voice chat, since there is no WebRTC), and I've heard VC works fine in Serpent. The constraints of my home ISP prevent voice chat from being feasible, so I mostly use my cell phone for that.

Yes, you can feel free to directly link/download from/whatever to anything on my site in your program, however if your program ever becomes extremely popular and drowns my bandwidth, you might need to move. But thats probably not a concern any time soon .

I wonder if a tool like RMClock could be useful in your goal of having quad cores feasibly. Though you will need a different program, as RMCLock doesnt support anything further than Core2. Also, perhaps a possibility is buying a better cooler from a different laptop, if that is feasible. My ThinkPad...

Office 2000 or XP, for me. No fancy looks, no gradients, just menus, toolbars and virtual paper. I just wish it wasnt so darn hard to get all the toolbar items situated the way I like. But to be fair, it is a thing one only needs to do once.

When i used it personally on my systems (2015, mind you), it was basically to me like Windows 8 but slower, and with a lot of bugs. After a few months, I had reverted both systems back to their previous operating systems. Its been a while since I actually USED consumer Windoze 10, but i have touched...

I made a rough list of every (published) update that is incompatible with SSE-only machines. I should compile and share that. And also, figure out the same for systems without SSE.
