Is there a downloadable live version I could put on a DVD? I am working on getting a minimal Linux install with Envy on there, theoretically it should fit on a CD. That would be nice. Would also probably be possible to wrap it into an Android APK like the very Win7 simulator app I decided run Envy ...

Currently two, HP TG01-023W which came with a better CPU than advertised (R5 3600 instead of 3500) and an Asus TUF A15 FA507RE laptop. Both machines are upgraded to have 3TB of SSD storage and 32GB RAM.

I personally like Mazdas and Toyotas (especially the older models without all the connected car bulls*** and other modern junk. Worst car would definitely be the S***ubishi Cancer (Mitsubishi Lancer), had one that was used and in 2 years and 3000 miles (COVID low driving) it started to have transmis...

Not sure if anyone's noticed, but it seems all non-Chinese characters on many Chinese (and maybe Korean, it's been a while since I played with Asian OS installs) look like they are in some special font. What font is it and why is it like that instead of being a normal font?

Haha yeah I use Tails, either in a VM or on bare metal depending on threat model. I am quite paranoid about some completely innocent things I simply want to keep private.

Same problem with an R7 6800H laptop and R5 3600 desktop, no matter what I do it gets stuck on drive related sys files. On some ISOs there is a third party driver that locks up and/or restarts (cant remember off the top of my head which one, I think it is ASMedia something) before anything else has ...

Hmm, ok. I would be curious what happens if you isolate the GPU in like a separate system, if you have one. Wish I had another system. No money for more computers much less space in my electronics-overfilled dorm room lol. Just a gaming laptop and this trashfire HP desktop. When I do have another s...

If the VRAM was running too hot, I'd assume it would show in more games. If it was unstable, you'd see artifacts, not lagging. You could probably get some thermal pads for VRAM, and heatsinks for back VRAM if there is any and see what happens. Should be like $10 at most from like AliExpress. Yeah I...

Ok so I have been having a weird issue for about a year with the cheaply made HP OEM 1650S in my gaming rig (or shall I say, gaming rustbucket). In one game in particular, specifically "The Suicide of Rachel Foster", the GPU runs it smoothly for a few seconds then suddenly lags for a secon...

My current Windows 8.1 Win2Go setup running off an old NVMe drive stuck in an enclosure, with no added drivers running on my gaming PC since on this thing it unlike my 2 year newer laptop seems to not BSOD at all in the couple hours I tested it.

Hi y'all. My name is Ludmilla (English transcription of the beautiful Russian name Lyudmila). My name means "love of the people" and I picked it for myself cause pretty much everyone in better areas of society loves me for my personality, technical knowledge, and many other things. I'm a f...

I personally love ChatGPT. While it is far from perfect and terrible at providing help for homework (I treat it like a professor in office hours and usually as a last resort if nothing else helps, I hate and condemn cheating and even if I wanted to cheat I know for a fact that ChatGPT will spew junk...

The PC will be going anyway sometime in the next year or two (assuming it doesn't totally go out beyond economical repair beforehand, I've kludged it to death and it still has some problems) and I will probably consult this or a similar forum for board selection. As for the laptop, that thing does p...

Thanks to this thread I finally got Windows 8.1 proper (not PE) booting up successfully on my modern laptop using both SATA and NVMe SSDs in USB3 enclosures using Win2Go through Rufus. Works great although obviously can't have GPU drivers and sound would probably be a tough ask but I anyway use an e...
