Since no topic for ReactOS has been created here, I figured I'd create one.

In case you don't know what is ReactOS, ReactOS is a free and open-source operating system based on Windows XP/Server 2003's functionality, while being able to run some NT 6 applications.

⚠️ Warning: ReactOS is in heavy development and it's in alpha stage currently, this means no guarantee for stability and safety. It's for evaluation and testing purposes only in this moment. I tested ReactOS, and while the warning above is true, I am very satisfied with ReactOS generally. It is completely looking and working good.

Thank you - will check it out again as its been a while since I tried it. I've only used the live DVD versions and they are limited.

Hi, how was ReactOS for you? A satisfying new experience?
I tested 0.4.15 dev, and I noticed a new feature: a new UI (similar to XP) for Log off and Shut down options.

Hmmm ...

I just grabbed the latest live DVD they offered, which appears to be:

ReactOS-0.4.14-release-63-ge4c6c6b-Live

So I'll test it this week, sorry just been dealing with a lot in real life as just today, I found out from the staff here that some of the people that went missing here are now homeless and I'm taking it a bit hard if I'm being honest.

But testing something will be a good distraction I think.

Sorry for any confusion I may have caused when I wrote some people are missing in which I meant (was referring) where I reside and that has nothing to do with ReactOS or the forum; rather, more on a personal matter.

Well I'll admit I only used the live DVD and didn't install it.
